Job Description  


We are seeking a talented, motivated,and passionate environmental sustainabilityprofessionals to join our Sustainability Consulting and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) team as a Senior LCA/Sustainability Consultant, with a focus on the Electronics industry 


What you will do 


Your work will help our clients achieve more sustainable products and operations by assisting them with product and corporate sustainability measurement and reporting. Through the use of Sphera’s industry-leading GaBi software, you will conduct and support LCA projects that empower our clients to reduce the environmental footprint of their products and make environmentally positive product design decisions; prepare Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) that allow our clients to report with transparency and accuracy; and work with industry-leading companies as a trusted advisor to help them develop strategies and programs to operate more sustainably and decarbonize their operations and supply chains  

A typical week at Sphera may include: 

  • Leading or collaborating on multiple concurrent consulting projects addressing LCA, EPD, product sustainability strategy and reporting, and/or corporate sustainability strategy. 
  • Using powerful tools like our industry-leading GaBi software, and its vast warehouse of data, to create best-in-class life cycle models and inventories of products and services, 
  • Interfacing with industry-leading, Fortune 500 clients,  
  • Sharing the results of your work by leading meetings, delivering presentations, etc.  
  • Writing ISO 14040/44 compliant reports documenting your project work 
  • Developing and delivering consultative sustainability services, advising clients to help them operate more sustainably and reduce their greater environmental impact, including strategy development and Scope 3 emissions reduction consulting,  
  • Creating thought leadership content in your area of expertise 
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of our client’s energy, water, waste, and emissions,  
  • Collaborating with Sphera team members across different specialties and regions to innovate, develop best practices, and deliver world-class results, 
  • Mentoring junior staff on industry best practices and technical knowledge, 
  • Technical review of work products as needed, 
  • Travel will be required as necessary on a project-by-project basis (up to 20% of time, primarily US, Canada, and Europe) 

What you’ll bring to Sphera: 

  • Client-focused mentality with a bias toward action 
  • A positive attitude and desire to help companies succeed in an environmentally sustainable manner 
  • A collaborative spirit and proactive approach to problem solving 
  • The knowledge and skills you’ve developed with 5+ years of LCA experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or related field. Master’s or PhD a plus 
  • Previous experience in the Electronics industry and an understanding of key impact levers 
  • Knowledge and passion for sustainability, environmental systems, life cycle thinking, product sustainability, and climate change. 
  • Strong client and project management skills to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. 
  • Interest in and familiarity with GRI, CDP, DJSI, B-Corp and other corporate sustainability standards a plus. 
  • Strong data skills and experience with Excel (or other data formats) to validate, format, and transform data into information, 
  • Strong quantitative or technical background with an excellent aptitude for analytical thinking. Natural curiosity to investigate issues, conduct research, design solutions, and translate results into business practices. 
  • Aptitude for learning new software, previous experience with GaBi a plus. 
  • Good oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate issues, give presentations, and prepare formal written reports. 
  • Self-motivated and organized; able to simultaneously work on multiple assignments and to work both independently as well as on teams. 
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. 
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States; we cannot sponsor a visa for this position.
